july seems to be a pretty good month for concerts in chicago (thirty minutes to the northwest of my town, depending on traffic)...
july 1 and 2: white stripes (i'll be there!)
july 9: placebo (don't know much abou them, but seem to be a favorite of some on this board)
july 12: lallapalooza (i think that's it...with jane's addiction, audioslave, qotsa, etc...friend of mine wants to go to this, or the one in alpine valley (north of chicago in wisconsin (at a later date)) but haven't made up my mind whether i want to or not...i'm not a fan of lawn seats)
july 14: blur
july 15 and 16: modest mouse
july 24: the mars volta (it seems as if there are two concerts on this date...but regardless, i must be going to one of them)
well, it might not be the greatest month...but, hey, i'm gunna see white stripes...and most likely going to see the mars volta...so i think that's pretty good...

Yeah, Chicago is a good rock town.. I live in redneckville Florida so we get all the wonderful Staind, Linkin Park, Creed and countless hair bands.. ugh.. Cant wait to move to cali. I was gonna see tmv in Orlando but Jeremy died shortly before they were supposed to come here so the orlando date was one of the ones cancelled..

...i live right by a neighborhood of hicks...a guy next door used to have sheep and a nephew who just walked right into houses without knocking or anything...ten minutes south of my house and you're really in hicktown...and kkk territory, too...lots of racists...

Is the KKK really still that big is some south towns? Like where the governor is a leader of the local KKK group, and all residents of the town are members?

...i really don't go much to these small towns in rural indiana...i still think, though, that the leaders of the kkk are in indiana...but now they're such a joke, all i think they do is go on jerry springer (chicago based show) and other talk shows and make asses of themselves...it's the 21st century...i mean, come on, isn't all the hate getting kinda of old?
...and kkk members are hicks...dumb as rocks...and there are a lot of rocks in indiana...and hicks...oh well

sorry, cokes, but i'm not planning on seeing modest mouse...i haven't really gotten into them...yet...but from what i've heard by them...they certainly have potential...
as for hoosiers...to be a hoosier is basically just to be from indiana (born and grew up in indiana...or lived here for at least 20 years and still in the process of living here)...at least that's how i categorize it...
...and a majority of hoosiers are hicks...and i'll even admit to being a little hickish (well, my surroundings at least)...cuz i have a neighbor that sells guns out of his garage...and i live on the outskirts of a neighborhood dubbed "frog town"...and my dad has a pickup truck...and i personally drive a mini van (which, really, is just kinda sad, but i don't care much about cars as long as i have one)...
...so yeah...there's nothing special about a hoosier...just keep in mind that there's a lot of corn and farmland and stuff like that in indiana...it's really southern in a way...you'll see a lot of those rebel flags...but fortunately i live in a suburb of chicago...and i don't have to deal with a lot of hicks and whatnot...and i don't live in gary...which is nice...cuz i don't want to get shot...

...i've never actually been to the metro...but i do hear it's quite nice...
...i'm not a huge smashing pumkins fan...but there's this local access show in chicagoland that has shown a lot of live footage of the smashing pumkins (almost always taken from the metro)...this show is called jbtv, and it airs at 11pm every wednesday night...it's like mtv but without all of the shiitty music...
