 phuck!!! this album is nothing i've ever heard of. multi-genre or anti-genre music. this album is an epic album. totally worth the wait. cedric has evolved into a flawless beautiful singer. they did a good job in making the music sound like a surreal nightmare/dream. and the hopeless cries from omar's guitar echoes throughout this psychotic episode. the mars volta have created a "perfect" album. if you do not agree, you belong in the........ THIS IS THE WAY I SEE IT...IF YOU PRE-ORDER ALBUMS...YOU SHOULD RECIEVE IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING IT IS RELEASED...NOT 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER....NOT THAT YOU PRE-ORDERED IT OR ANYTHING MERCMAN..

I ordered this past sunday, so I didn't expect it to get here Tuesday, but it still hasn't come, and it's Thursday... I"m about to have a FULL COLLAPSE!!!!!!!!!! j/k couldn't resist ;D
Plus, I ordered a book for my dad for father's day (friday before, but still..), and it said it'd be here 2-5 days later... no more ordering from Amazon. They can business day their puds for all I care right now... well... after the album and book get here

Holy facking Hellbop. This CD is great. I have listened to it 5 times in a row, and I mean nonstop........it kinda tears me apart because as much as I wanted ATD-I to get back together, I don't want The Mars Volta to break up. Oh, yeah....is there two different album covers, because when i was in Best Buy buying the disk, I saw a diff album cover on the cd

Check out the TMV video on kazaa, THEY KICK AoSSSSS, Cedric and Omar still have their ever famous energy and emotion on stage. I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THEM IT IS LIKE A DRUG. I need alcohol to calm my nerves, damn female are causing much pain.

Ambuletz is on the UK version too, but it was originally on the GSL 50 sampler cd with sky scraper magazine. Good point about A Plague Upon Your Hissing, I had totally forgotten about that one.

If you read the insert in the CD, it mentions that there is going to be a two disc set released in September....it also mentions a release date of Sept 8th on the GSL website......anyone got any info on this

...i have very much considered that the mars volta is better than at the drive-in..and they just might be better...
...and all i know is that with the lp you'll get the lyric/story book without any extra cost...

The TMV is God-like, but it's not ATDI. it's completely different...they're not trying to be ATDI and they do well in meeting that aim. The songs are beautiful (televators) and cedric'sm voice has got better...but they need Tony, Paul and Jim to be as good as or better than ATDI...i realise that if this came true they would indeed BE ATDI and then there would be no reason for them to be better... NOBODY IS ATDI OTHER THAN ATDI. |

i think i understand what's he's trying to say. we try to compare TMV & SPARTA to atd-i. that's wrong. TMV and sparta are awesome. TMV's album showing excellent musicianship, as well as SPARTA's latest effort....but, at the drive-in have a different connection, a different vibe , if you may. I REALLY DIG THE MARS VOLTA.....but, at the drive-in (lyrics and music) will always speak to me in a more clearer way. atd-i is the sole source of this connection. you have to respect the start of it all. put it this way..i'd kill for ONE more AT THE DRIVE-IN album....wouldn't you?
